Kentucky Bourbon Balls

Couldn't wait to get back in the kitchen and create these Kentucky Bourbon Balls after my girls' trip to Louisville, Kentucky with my sorority besties. These boozy nutty sweet treats are a breeze to make and would be such a lovely hostess or gourmet gift from the kitchen.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 6 tablespoons Kentucky bourbon
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups bittersweet chocolate chips, melted
  • Smoked bourbon sugar, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine chopped pecans and bourbon in a bowl and stir to mix. Set aside and let pecans soak.
  2. Mix together butter and powdered sugar until combined.
  3. Stir in bourbon pecans. Scoop into small balls and transfer to parchment lined baking sheet. Freeze for an hour to set up.
  4. Dip bourbon balls in melted chocolate to cover, then transfer to parchment and let set.
  5. Drizzle additional melted chocolate over bourbon balls and sprinkle with smoked bourbon sugar.
  6. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve or gift

Enjoy!

*These are pretty rich, so you may want to make them small. I ended up cutting the ones I made in half.
