Cherries Jubilee

Ingredients

3 cups cherries, pitted
1/2 cup kirsch
3/4 cup sugar
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup brandy (if lighting it up)

Instructions

Place pitted cherries in a medium bowl and add 1/2 cup kirsch. Stir to combine and let sit for 30 minutes.
Bring cherries with kirsch, sugar and lemon juice to a boil in a medium sauce pot. Boil for 5 minutes.
Pour brandy over cherry mixture and light with a long-handled match. Let flames burn out and stir.
Serve Cherries Jubiilee over scoops of vanilla ice cream.
