Easy-for-You Tiramisu
This Easy-for-You Tiramisu is one of my very favorite tried-and-true make ahead desserts featured in Little Red Book of Recipes to Love~ Entertaining at Home Made Easy.
Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy whipping cream
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon Kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons Espresso powder
- 1 tablespoon Kahlua
- ¾ cup mascarpone cheese
- 1 frozen butter pound cake
- ½ cup Kahlua
- Bittersweet chocolate baking bar
Instructions
- Beat 2 cups heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
- Beat in ¼ cup powdered sugar, 1/8 teaspoon Kosher salt and 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract.
- Transfer half of the whipped cream to a second bowl.
- To one bowl of whipped cream add: 2 teaspoons Espresso powder, and 1 tablespoon Kahlua.
- To other bowl of whipped cream add ¾ cup mascarpone cheese. Stir until blended.
- Slice one frozen butter pound cake into four equal horizontal layers. Line a loaf pan with plastic wrap, leaving extra wrap on both sides for handles.
- Place one pound cake layer in the bottom of the lined loaf pan. Brush pound cake layer with Kahlua. Spread half of the Espresso whipped cream atop the bottom pound cake layer, spreading to make a smooth layer.
- Top with a second pound cake layer. Brush with Kahlua.
- Spread half of the mascarpone whipped cream atop the second pound cake layer, spreading to make a smooth layer.
- Top with a third pound cake layer. Brush with Kahlua. Spread the remaining espresso whipped cream atop the third pound cake layer, spreading to make a smooth layer.
- Top with the last pound cake layer. Spread the rest of the mascarpone whipped cream atop the fourth pound cake layer, spreading to make a smooth topping.
- Warm bittersweet chocolate bar in microwave briefly. Use a vegetable peeler to make chocolate curls. Garnish Easy-for-You Tiramisu with bittersweet chocolate curls. Refrigerate until ready to serve. When ready to serve, remove from refrigerator, grasp plastic wrap handles and pull Easy-for-You Tiramisu out of loaf pan. Transfer to cutting board. Slice and serve.
