Oh So Good and Good for You Stuffed Sandwich to Love

This might surprise you, but every single ingredient you see in this Oh So Good and Good for You Stuffed Sourdough Sandwich came straight out of the Preferred Foods Lists in the appendix of Eat to Beat Diesase by Dr. William Li. That’s right~ here are the ingredients listed with their defence system. Garlic~ immunity, Cherry tomatoes~ immunity and angiogenesis, Basil~ DNA protection, Sourdough~ microbiome, Prosciutto~ angiogenesis, Camembert~ microbiome. So good & good for you! Ingredients

  • 1 head garlic
  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • kosher salt
  • freshly ground pepper
  • sourdough bread loaf
  • 1/4 cup softened butter
  • 3 ounces prosciutto, thinly sliced
  • 8 ounces Camembert cheese, rind removed, sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil and brush with olive oil.
  3. Use serrated knife to slice cherry tomatoes in half, and cut garlic head into slices.
  4. Transfer cherry tomatoes and garlic slices to prepared baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Roast cherry tomatoes and garlic in preheated oven for about 10 minutes to blister tomatoes and roast garlic.
  6. Increase oven temperature to broil.
  7. Slice sourdough loaf in half horizontally., and spread with softened butter. Broil just until edges are light golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Remove toasted sourdough from oven and top the bottom half with sliced prosciutto and Camembert. Return to oven and broil briefly to melt cheese.
  9. Sprinkle with fresh basil leaves, top with top half of toasted sourdough and slice. Serve warm.
